Find Out How to Straighten Your Smile
Invisalign itself as far as… We do a lot of Invisalign here. Invisalign is the industry leader in orthodontic movement with clear aligners. And why is that? Well, they spend over $90 million a year in R&D, research and development to make sure that their plastic is the best plastic on the market. They have countless patents on the buttons, which are the things that are applied to the teeth to make the teeth move in specific directions, pushing, pulling, rotation, all these things in the background that we do to make sure that the teeth at the end of treatment are exactly what you want, or really, really darn close.
From traditional braces to Invisalign, most of our treatments in Invisalign are within, usually 10 months to a year and a half. Traditional braces, you’re in ’em for two years or longer, or much longer. It’s easier to clean the teeth without having the brace wire and the bond wires in. You can eat what you want to pretty much with Invisalign. And with traditional braces, you’re in our office because we have done traditional braces in the past, every six to eight weeks. With Invisalign, I really don’t have to see my patients but once every three months. So it’s much more convenient for the patient and it’s a more comfortable process of moving the teeth and getting ’em where they should be.
With Invisalign here at Arlington Dental, the other nice thing, diagnostically and along with checkups, we always take scans. With those scans, it allows us to see the position of your teeth and we can bring up a heat map, which we show you, that will show us and you how your teeth collide and where you’re wearing away tooth structure or not. I mean, you may have a great bite. A lot of people don’t have a great bite and they think they do. We can show them what’s happening to their teeth structure with this heat map and it allows them to have an aha moment sometimes because they never thought about it. And then when they see how their teeth have been worn away to the side, or they’re angled off or sheared and they’re really short now, the light bulb kind of comes on that maybe I should get my teeth a little straighter rather than look at root canals and crowns down the road. So it helps ’em with that also.
